To preface this story, I spent last month in the hospital. I had a hernia operation go bad, meaning, I had a perforated bowel and a major infection….I had a second surgery to clean this out, and I spent two weeks in ICU on a ventilator….I had to relearn to walk….joyous good fun. The third surgery of this story was to try and close up the holes from the second surgery.

Anyways, during this month, Mom swears my cellphone was ringing off the hook. She must have talked to every one of my friends and let them know what was going on. She even called a couple that she knew from me talking about them to let them know how I was doing. Gotta love Mom. If only she knew the passwords to my inbox, she could have emailed for me as well. HAHAH.

Mom tells me this morning that when she moves to her new apartment (because she has a bone chip in her muscle and needs to see an orthopedic surgeon and my stepdad broke his hip and is in a rehab center-we have awesome luck like that) that she needs to copy my contact list from my cellphone so she’ll have someone to talk to. Um, what? “Well, Johanna,” she clarifies, “I’ve spoken to all of your friends for so long that I feel like they’re MY friends now and I sorta miss talking to them…” I had to giggle. That’s Mom for ya.
